Dec. 13 arrest reports

The following arrests were made by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office in recent days:

— On Oct. 24, Brittney J. Hamm, 38, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Deputy Christopher Miller’s report, he conducted a traffic stop for improper lane usage in Cherokee. The driver, Hamm, was allegedly seen to have a rapidly rising and falling chest and shaky hands. Consent to search the vehicle was denied, but an Ozempic container was noticed that Hamm could not provide a prescription for at the time. A search of the vehicle yielded a container with a pipe, snort straw and baggie of methamphetamine.

— On Oct. 30, Alexander J. Charette, 22, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of prescription drugs, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Deputy Shaun Lindblom’s report, he was advised of an alleged suspicious person in Leighton. The vehicle was found parked near a gate leading to an abandoned property after a caller reported seeing the vehicle move from driveway to driveway in the area. The driver, Charette, was asleep in the driver’s seat. The odor of marijuana was present, and a green leafy substance was observed on his shirt. Upon exiting the vehicle, Charette handed over a small metal container that had three blue pills and multiple Suboxone strips. A search of his person yielded a warm glass pipe and a bag of marijuana. A search of the vehicle yielded a digital scale, multiple small baggies, a bottle containing an unknown liquid medicine and a bag with several prescription medications.

— On Oct. 30, Adrian M. Leggs, 41, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute. According to Deputy Shaun Lindblom’s report, he was contacted about a subject with active warrants with CCSO. He was seen traveling in a vehicle on Avalon Avenue. After making a traffic stop, Legg was removed from the vehicle. A search of his person allegedly yielded a bag containing a purple powdery substance believed to be fentanyl. Another bag containing a white powder believed to be crack cocaine was also located on the ground near where Leggs had been standing.

— On Nov. 2, Autry D. Mitchell, 31, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Deputy William Murner’s report, he was dispatched to the 200 block of Ponderosa Drive in Tuscumbia to a report of a suspicious vehicle. He found a vehicle crashed into the woods with lights on and running. The driver, Mitchell, was allegedly unconscious behind the wheel with the vehicle still in gear. A partially smoked marijuana blunt was in plain sight on the center console. A search of the vehicle yielded a plastic container used to contain narcotics and a shard of a clear crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine. More methamphetamine was found in the container. Another container was located containing methamphetamine and two containers with marijuana were located.

— On Nov. 2, Marco T. Rivas, 52, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Deputy Luther Posey’s report, he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with only one functional headlight and an expired tag. Upon making contact with the driver, Rivas, he was observed to be allegedly exhibiting possible impaired behavior. A consented search of the vehicle yielded one hydrocodone pill, and a search of his person yielded a small baggie containing methamphetamine
