Colbert County falls in 2nd round
While the Colbert County Indians might have seen their 2025 football campaign end at the hands of Gordo 49-29 in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs, the team from Leighton still has a lot to brag about this year.
Colbert County notched its first win over Lauderdale County since 2018, its 14th-straight playoff appearance and first postseason win since 2022.
The Indians have the seventh-most program wins in state history at 696, meaning the school will likely mark its 700th all-time victory next season.
CCHS also marks the most wins in a season since also going 8-4 in 2018.
There is plenty to build on for next season when Oscar Bonds enters his second year at the helm of the Indians.
