Steven Joseph Fuller, 62

Steven Joseph Fuller, 62, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. He will be laid to rest in Rome/Proctorville, Ohio, with his grandparents, Woodrow and Dorothy Duty.

Steven was a Christian and a member of the Baptist faith. He worked for a vol­unteer Fire Department in Ohio, and was an excellent mechanic. Steven enjoyed fishing, and loved animals, especially his dogs. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Neil Johnson; and grandparents, Wood­row and Dorothy Duty and James and Maxine Fuller.

Steven is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Teresa Fuller; daughter, Beth Fuller; stepdaughter, Nikki Harrison (Brandon); parents, Steven and Elizabeth Fuller, whom he loved dearly; sis­ters, Kimberly Smith (Greg) and Stefanie Easterwood (Adam); grandson, Tyler Johnson; great-granddaugh­ter, Kimberlee Johnson; nieces, Kaitlyn Allen (Jake), Emily Brockway (Jesse), and Brianna Easterwood; nephew, Christopher Smith (Kate); and great-neph­ew, Jensen Brockway.

Charles Conn

Logan, 73

Charles Conn Logan, 73, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, No­vember 5, 2025. There will be a private family grave­side service at a later date.

Charles was a graduate of Muscle Shoals High School Class of 1971 where he was a band member. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and Alabama Nation­al Guard. Charles was a member of Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and pawpaw and will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Winford B. “Smudge” Logan and Norma Jean Barnett Logan and sis­ter, Barbara Logan Potts.

He is survived by his lov­ing wife of 39 years, Patri­cia Gladbach Logan; chil­dren, Regina Logan Blake and husband, Cory Blake and Charles W.P. Logan and wife, Kayla Bain Logan; and grandchildren Kenna Logan, age 8, Logan Blake, age 8, and Harper Logan, age 4; and a host of other family members and friends.

Carolyn Sue Thornburg, 70

Carolyn Sue Thornburg, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, No­vember 7, 2025. The fam­ily will receive friends for visitation on Monday, No­vember 10, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Elder Gary Smith will be offici­ating. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Thornburg was born in on January 2, 1955, to the late Walter Eugene and Ruby (nee Patrick) Pound­ers. A native of the Shoals area, Mrs. Thornburg was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted Christian, serving and worshipping at Second Creek Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thornburg was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Pounders.

Those left to mourn her the most include her hus­band, Douglas N. Thornburg Sr.; son, Douglas N. Thorn­burg Jr.; grandchildren, Braxton Thornburg, Tyns­lee Thornburg, and Alexis Thornburg; step-grandchil­dren, Hagen Durham, Pres­ton Durham, Jaylen Durham, and Mayson Durham; broth­ers, Stephen Pounders and Anthony Pounders; nephew, Richard Pounders; other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers include Richard Pounders, Mi­chael Clement, Christo­pher Clement, Joe Clem­ent, Douglas Thornburg Jr., and Hagen Durham. Robert Hargett will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Hiram L. “Shorty”

Dupree, 94

Hiram L. “Shorty” Dupree, 94, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Fri­day, November 7, 2025. Vis­itation will be Monday, No­vember 10, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Highland Park Church of Christ. The funer­al service will immediately follow in the church sanc­tuary with Ben Hayes and Mike Brooks officiating. Interment will be at Pleas­ant Hill Cemetery, Central.

Shorty was retired from Reynolds Metals. He was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ, the Lions Club, and Iron­workers Local 477.

Shorty was beloved by all who knew him. He was al­ways the first to help those in need. He was an avid golf­er and loved baseball and passed that on to his fami­ly. He and his high-school sweetheart, Betty Jane were married for 69 years. They both had a deep love for God and their family.

Shorty was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Broadfoot Dupree; parents, John Loyd and Velma Mills Dupree; children, John L. Dupree and Pamela Dupree Farned; one grandchild; and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Dupree; grandchildren, Kylie Pruitt (Jerry), Jon­na Brumley (James), Dusty Farned, and Chase Dupree; and great-grand­children, Jackson Smith, AJ Pruitt, and Ayson Dupree.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memo­rials may be made to High­land Park Missions Fund.

Winston Dolfos Moats, 86

Winston Dolfos Moats, 86, of Sheffield, passed away on Saturday, Novem­ber 8, 2025. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Greg Law­son officiating. Interment will be in Shoals Memo­rial Gardens, Tuscumbia.

Winston was a veter­an of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Price Moats and Trannie Lew­is; sister, Jennette Lawson; and son, James Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marion (Colene) Moats; children; Michelle Rich­ardson (Reginald), Brenda McClendon (Anthony), and Johnny Church; daughter in law, Terisa Church; grand­children, Breana Penning­ton, Andrew Richardson, Josh Minor, Blake Rich­ardson, Matthew Church, Michael Church, Brandon Werner, Mikey Werner, Tiffany Claunch, Andrea Weeks, Lee Bates, and a host of great grand kids.

Pallbearers will be Mi­chael Church, Matthew Church, Andrew Rich­ardson, Kyle Penning­ton, Anthony McClen­don, and Eric Walker.

Betty Lynne

Warren, 85

Betty Lynne Warren, 85, of Florence, Alabama went to heaven on Thursday, November 6, 2025. A cele­bration of her beautiful life will take place at Highland Baptist Church in Florence on Saturday, November 15th, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 till 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Betty Lynne was preced­ed in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Nema Lu­cille Miller, and her broth­er Robert Lee Miller, Jr. Surviving her in death are: James Avery Warren, her husband of 63 years; their sons, James Barton War­ren (Lori) and Robert Brent Warren; grandchildren, Wil­son Barton Warren (Marga­ret), Elizabeth Beeson Ire­land (Scott), Kendall Lynne Warren, Holland Avery Warren, Joshua Alan Size­more and John Luke Size­more; Great-grandchildren, Catherine Ormond Ireland and James Wilson Warren.

Betty Lynne was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but her family soon moved to Florence, Alabama, which she always referred to as her “beloved hometown.” Af­ter graduating from Coffee High School in 1958, she earned a degree in Music Education at Florence State College (now The Univer­sity of North Alabama) in 1962. Throughout her for­ty-year career as a piano teacher, countless young people learned to play the piano and became Betty Lynne’s lifelong friends. She also served as church pianist or organist for local church­es during those forty years.

Betty Lynne was a living definition of a “Christian lady” who loved with all her heart the Lord, her family and many friends. To de­scribe her, requires words such as: kind, gentle, loyal, sweet, thoughtful, talented, generous, dependable, gra­cious, humble and loving. She and Jim are members of Highland Baptist Church.

Nelson Wayne McClish, 82

With deep love and grati­tude, we celebrate the life of Nelson Wayne McClish—a devoted husband, cherished father, and faithful friend. Born in Arkansas on Octo­ber 8, 1943, Nelson lived a life marked by service, compassion, and unwaver­ing faith. At the age of 82, he left his Earthly home on November 8, 2025.

He retired from the Flor­ence Police Department af­ter 20+years of honorable service and served 6yrs as Chaplain with the Lauder­dale County Sheriff’s Posse. His heart for ministry led him to serve as an Evange­list, Pastor, and Preacher for 40 years, touching countless lives with his wisdom, kind­ness, and spiritual guidance.

Nelson’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband to the Late Eddie Marie White Mcclish, whom he now joins in Heaven, and a proud father to his children, Waynette Marie McClish, Kristie Lynn Mc­Clish, Dorothy Lucille Mc­Clish, Judy Kay McClish Embery (Leon) He was a steady, prayerful presence in their lives-always offer­ing encouragement, laugh­ter, and unconditional love. Nelson (Wayne) Also leaves behind Sisters, Lynda Wile­mon (Robert), Sandra Hat­field (Jack), and Numerous Nieces and Nephews; He adored his grandchildren, Daren Dulaney(Kassie), Laynette Dulaney, Nelson A. McClish (Amber), Kris­tie Wood (Tyler), Eddie Em­bery; Great Grandchildren, Evan Dulaney, Scarlette Dulaney, Karson Dulaney, Saylie, Brynleigh Trusty, Tatum Wood, Scarlett Wood, Kanyon McClish he was a guiding light to them, sharing cowboy wisdom, scripture, and stories that will live on in their hearts.

His love extended to his church family and commu­nity, where he was known for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and faithful service.

Nelson also had a life­long love for horses, finding peace and purpose in the sad­dle. Whether riding through quiet pastures or serving alongside the Sheriff’s Pos­se, he felt closest to God in the rhythm of hoofbeats and the wide-open Alabama sky.

He leaves behind a leg­acy of faith, family, and friendship— a life well-lived and a soul well-loved.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Elvis & Lucille McClish; son Ar­nold Ray McClish; wife, Ed­die Marie White McClish; brother, James JE’ McClish; granddaughter, Cheyenne Kay Embery; great- grand­son, Kamron Gene Dulaney.

A celebration will be held at Acts Church (Apos­tolic Church of the Shoals) Thursday, November 13, 2025, visitation from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with the service beginning imme­diately after with Pastor Nelson A. McClish offici­ating. The Graveside ser­vice will follow at Mur­phy’s Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Barnhill.

Billy Gerald Landers, 84

Billy Gerald Landers, 84, of Leighton, AL passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Novem­ber 6, 2025 from 1-3 pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow at 3 pm in the chapel. Marti Thomas will be officiating. He retired from Reynolds as a machinist after 31 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Willie Landers; broth­er, Levoyd, Earl, Cotton, Fred, and Frank Landers; sister, Helen; grandsons, Bryan Joseph Landers and Christopher Landers.

Billy is survived by his sons, Billy Keith Land­ers, Tommy Wayne Land­ers (Tammy), Ricky Gene Landers, and Randall Lynn Landers (Kiley); daugh­ters, Candy Landers (Rocky Simpson) and Belinda Landers; brother, Leonard Landers; grandchildren, Brianna Landers, Zackary Landers, Crystal Zamora (Michael), and Mark Land­ers; 14 great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Glen­wood Rehab nurses and Amedisys Hospice, spe­cial friend, Gary Ledlow. He will be missed by all of his racing and working friends. Billy was known for his drag racing and his transmission business.

 

Marjorie Louise McCoy, 84

Marjorie Louise McCoy, 84, of Sheffield, Alabama, passed away peaceful­ly on November 4, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 15, 1941, to Wil­liam Edward Gray and Mar­jorie Hester Moulton Gray, Louise graduated from Ly­ons Township High School in La Grange, Illinois, and earned her bachelor’s degree in music from DePauw Uni­versity. In August 1963, she married Dr. Ronald Wayne McCoy. The couple lived in Chicago while Ronald at­tended medical school, and Louise completed her mas­ter’s degree in music edu­cation at DePaul University.

After Ronald’s residency and service in the U.S. Air Force at Warner Robins AFB in Georgia, they moved to Sheffield, Alabama, where Louise devoted her life to her family and to music educa­tion. She taught elementary music for many years and served as pianist for First United Methodist Church of Sheffield for over five de­cades. Later, she joined the faculty of the University of North Alabama, teaching music appreciation and ac­companying music majors.

Louise retired in her seventies to care for her husband during his later years of illness. The couple shared 59 years of marriage before Ronald’s passing.

She was a devoted member of the Shoals Area P.E.O., a generous supporter of UNA and First United Method­ist Church, and an active presence in the local music community. Her students, colleagues, and friends will remember her for her talent, dedication, sense of humor, and contagious laughter that could fill an auditorium.

Louise is survived by her son, Dr. Loren Edward Mc­Coy; her daughter, Molly McCoy Hood; her sister, Sylvia Forbes; grandchildren Kaylee Denton Davis, Gray McCoy, and Will McCoy; great-granddaughter Nella Grimmett; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, her husband Ronald, and her brother, Phillip Gray.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Col­bert Memorial Chapel in Tuscumbia, Alabama, fol­lowed by a private graveside service for immediate family.

Louise’s love for mu­sic, children, and laugh­ter brought joy to all who knew her. Heaven is surely brighter now that she has joined her beloved Ronald.

Ralph Martin, 85

Ralph Martin, 85, of Tus­cumbia, AL passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. A visitation will be held at Colbert Memorial Chapel on Wednesday November 12, 2025 from 3 to 4 with a memorial service to fol­low at 4. Greg Beasley will be officiating the service.

Ralph was a devoted Christian and served as a Baptist deacon. He was also a proud Mason and Shri­ner. A lover of golf, Ralph could often be found on the course. Above all, he cher­ished his role as a grand­father, taking great pride in caring for and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Pol­ly Martin; daughter, Marcia Martin Hutchins; brothers, Ronnie Martin, Roy Martin, and Rufus Michael Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Mar­tin; children, Scott Martin (May Beth), Donna Plunket (Mark), and Michael Martin (Tara); grandchildren, Na­than Martin, Natalie Phillips, Ryan Plunket, Rachel Plun­ket, Zachary Plunket, Leigh Thomas, Kori Martin, Kaleb Martin, Kolton Martin; 12 great-grandchildren; niece, Monica Martin McBride.

Nancy Polk

Fisher, 78

Nancy Polk Fisher, 78, of Muscle Shoals, Ala­bama, passed away peace­fully on November 3, 2025.

Nancy was an extraor­dinary woman who deeply loved her family and friends. Born and raised with a strong sense of care and devotion, she was a loving daughter who always looked after her parents, Oscar David Polk and Jennie Lachick, and a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother who filled her home with love.

She is preceded in death by her beloved hus­band, Billy Fisher, and her parents, Oscar David Polk and Jennie Lachick.

Nancy is survived by her children, Sean Nelson Polk (Kim), James Paul Fisher (Heather), Billy Joel Fisher (Kim), and Shane David Polk (Veronica); her cherished grandchildren Ashley, Emily, Jonathan, Samantha, Sophia, James, Marissa, Caelan, Aus­tin, Christian, Zachery, Zoie, and Brendan; and her adored great-grandchildren Jaxson, Bella, Ben, Carter, and No­lan. She also leaves behind her sister, Colleen McTeague, her nephew Craig McTe­ague, and many dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Nancy cherished her mornings — they were her time to slow down and take in the world. With a cup of coffee and her morning cig­arette, she’d often check the weather across the United States to see where her sons were traveling and how they were doing. She loved those quiet hours, when she could catch up with dear family and friends or spend time reading one of her favorite romance novels. Nancy also loved lis­tening to country music and watching sports, especial­ly cheering for her favorite teams — the Boston Red Sox and the South Carolina Gamecocks. It was in those simple, joyful moments that her caring heart and spirit­ed nature shined the most.

Nancy’s warmth and unwavering love will for­ever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Jona­than, James, Brendan, Aus­tin, Christian, and Zachery.

A celebration of Nan­cy’s life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10-11 am at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Family and friends are welcome.

Annie Louise Greenhill, 83

Annie Louise Greenhill, 83, of Tuscumbia, AL passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 11 am-1 pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow at 1 pm in the chapel. Offici­ating will be brothers, Don Miller, Mitchell Dalrymple, Frank Richey, and Jason Per­sell. Burial will be held in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

She was a member of Pin­ey Grove Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ken­neth Ray Greenhill; par­ents, Marvin and Josephine Robnett; infant sister, Janie Robnett; sister, Alice Belue.

Annie is survived by her son, Kenny Greenhill (Joy); daughters, Tammy Dalrym­ple (Mike), Anita Hellums (Chuck), and Stacie Oliver (Myron); brother, Jim Rob­nett (Sandra); sister, Kathy Neal (David); grandchildren, Michael Dalrymple (Katie), Joshuah Hellums (Shelly), Danielle Fisher (Jeremy), Jacob Hellums (Amy), Bart­ley Oliver (Emily), Mallory Sprinkle (Jacob), Breanne Russell (Kyle), and Hayden Knight; great grandchildren, Nora, Oliver, Teddy, Izzie, Lily, Hadley, Tess, J.T., Coo­per, Tucker, Jake, Wesley, Ella, Josie, Willa, Thatch­er, and Sophie Ray; and her beloved dog, Sister Mabel who was always there to take care of her every need.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

A special thanks to Genti­va Hospice for their loving caregivers Renea and Hanna. Also, her sitters, Brothers Keeper, Angela and Yolanda. We are so thankful for their excellent care of our Mama.
