The Deshler Tigers remained undefeated on the 2025 season with a 49-6 win over Wilson Sept. 12.

A 5-yard touchdown run by Brycen Williams and point after by Tripp Brooks marked the final points of the game around the midway point of the third quarter.

The Tigers (4-0, 3-0 Class 4A, Region 7) have an open week before traveling to take on longtime rival Colbert County (2-2, 1-1 Class 3A Region 7).

The Indians are coming off a big 34-12 win against previously unbeaten Lauderdale County.

The victory marks the first against the Tigers since 2018.

Three of those scores were rushing touchdowns by Frank Hayes, with Zaccheus King and Sir Miller adding one each.

Colbert County will continue region play by hosting Rogers (3-1, 2-0) this week.

The Pirates topped the Indians 33-21 last year, though CCHS has a 22-5 lead in the series.

Colbert Heights 46, Elkmont 21

The Wildcats have started off 4-0 for the second year in a row with a 46-21 win over Elkmont. However, CHHS went 0-6 over the rest of the season in 2024 and will look to better that mark in 2025.

The Wildcats rushed for 402 yards as a team with touchdowns by Gavin Caldwell, Kaylin Baskins, Owen Hood, Mason Bryant and Gio Kroger.

Colbert Heights (4-0, 2-0 Class 3A, Region 7) will be looking to keep things going on the road against county rival and area foe Sheffield (1-2, 0-2).

The Bulldogs are coming off a 55-8 loss to reigning 3A state champion Mars Hill.

Sheffield won the contest 47-27 last year and holds a 16-6 overall advantage.

Cherokee fell to 0-4, 0-2 in Class 1A, Region 7 with a 66-0 loss to Addison.

The Indians will play at Vina (0-3, 0-2) this week.

Cherokee topped the Red Devils 48-8 last year and has a 16-8-1 lead in the all-time series.
