Aug. 9 arrest reports
The following arrests were made by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office in recent days:
– On July 21, Amanda C. Crane, 48, was arrested and charged with two counts possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband. According to Deputy William Murner’s report, he arrested Murner on an outstanding warrant. While being processed into the Colbert County Jail, officers allegedly found three pill bottles on her person. One contained Oxycodone, one contained cut straws with residue and the last contained acetaminophen and methamphetamine.
– On July 24, Kenneth C. Roden, 62, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Deputy Hunter White’s report, he made a traffic stop on U.S. 72 near Woodmont Drive after observing a vehicle sitting still at a green light, causing traffic to move around. Both Roden, the passenger, and driver Benjamin J. Aday, 37, had active warrants. Consent for a search of the vehicle was denied, but a K-9 alerted to the driver side door. A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded a backpack with a used glass pipe, used syringes and a clear plastic baggie containing a small cotton ball that appeared purple in color. The cotton ball tested positive for fentanyl.
– On July 26, Wanda R. Melton, 52, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Deputy Billy Jefferson’s report, he responded to Asphalt Rock Road to an alleged disorderly female. Once on scene, he found a woman sitting beside the roadway. Upon questioning her, she admitted to having a marijuana pipe in her purse.
