Paul David Gresham, 67

Paul David Gresham, 67, of Muscle Shoals, passed from his earthly home into the arms of his Heaven­ly Father on Friday, July 18, 2025. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church “WABC”. The funer­al service will immediately follow in the church sanc­tuary with Tyler Armstrong, Lead Pastor of WABC and Conner Gresham, Associ­ate Pastor of WABC. In­terment will be at Tri-Cit­ies Memorial Gardens.

David was a long-time resident of Muscle Shoals and a 1975 graduate of Mus­cle Shoals High School. He worked in the trucking in­dustry for most of his life and was currently a freight broker for the Bennett Fam­ily of Companies and was also a real estate agent for YES Realty Group. David was a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. David was married to Cin­dy Gresham for 33 years. He felt his greatest accom­plishment in life was being Dad to Conner and Anna Claire and he would brag about them to anyone who would listen. He was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Fan. He was preced­ed in death by his parents, Paul and Martha Gresham.

David is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Gresham; children, Conner Gresham and Anna Claire Gresham; sisters, Debbie Gresham Grissom (Rod­ney) and Carolyn Gresham Wright; nieces and nephews, Beverly Wright Chandler (Brian), Melissa Grissom DeFoor (Kyle), Michael Grissom (Lindsay), Chris­topher Wright (Julie Anna), Jessica Shook; several great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Nate.

Pallbearers are Michael Grissom, Christopher Wright, Roger Balentine, Rodney Grissom, David Shook, and Andrew Milford.

Frances “Irene” Evans, 84

Frances “Irene” Evans, 84, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 22, at Morrison Funer­al Home, Tuscumbia, be­ginning at 2:00 p.m. with Barry Barlar officiating.

Irene made friends wher­ever she went. She was known as the Dancing Queen in the Retirement Commu­nity. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and spouse of six­ty-five years, Hoyt Evans.

Irene is survived by her children, Darlene Faulkner, David Evans (Jane), Mi­chelle Johnson (Steve), and Jennifer Goodman (Doug); sisters, Glenda Austin, Ei­llen Williams, and Phylis Whisenant; grandchildren, Ken Faulkner (Sam), Ash­ley Briley (Tyler), Mandy Blaise (Sean), Jon Copeland (Amy), David Evans (Sean), Madison Newton (Bobby), Emily Goodman, and Briley Goodman; and great-grand­children, Gavin Cummins, Lillian Faulkner, Mason Cummins, Madilyn Cope­land, Ella Faulkner, Adam Copeland, Liam Copeland, Ramona Faulkner, Maxi­mus Blaise, and Reef Blaise.

Gail Leigh

Cross, 65

Gail Leigh Cross 65, Sheffield, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Visitation will be Satur­day, July 19, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Shef­field Methodist Church, Sheffield, AL. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with Bart Bowlin officiating. In­terment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, St. Joseph, TN.

Gail was born on Febru­ary 12, 1960, in Florence, Alabama, to her father, James Edward Cross, and to her mother, Lorena Co­peland Cross. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1978 and from the Uni­versity of North Alabama in 1987. Gail loved being with her family and friends, playing Bingo, and listening to music. As a very athletic woman, she had an extreme­ly determined and competi­tive nature. After working hard to overcome a horrif­ic car accident at 16 years old, she relocated to Florida and was recognized by then Governor Jeb Bush who in­vited her to speak on behalf of others with disabilities. As a lifelong member of the Sheffield Methodist Church, she sang in the Chapel Choir and was active in MYF.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lorena Cross; and cous­in, Jean Copeland. She is survived by her partner, Matt Crunk; siblings, Bren­da Cross, Jani Cross Carter (Greg), and Mark Cross; and a host of nieces and nephews and grand-niec­es and grand-nephews.

Gail’s family wishes to recognize the following peo­ple; A very dear friend, Linda Dodson, who began a rela­tionship as Gail’s caregiver, but soon developed a close­ness and love for Gail that we will never forget; Penny Lee, who also participated in caring for Gail and very quickly developed that same close bond; and Charlene and Earl “Peanutt” Mont­gomery, who took a special interest in Gail. Their close friendship included hosting Gail on their karaoke stage many Saturday evenings.

Gail will always be re­membered for her 1,000 watt smile, her radiant larger than life personali­ty, and the many lives she touched with her quick wit and loving heart. Gail’s family will never forget her and will miss her dearly.

Carolyn Roberts McCann, 89

Carolyn Roberts Mc­Cann, 89, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Wednes­day, July 16, 2025. Visita­tion will be Sunday, July 20, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at Oak­wood Cemetery, Tuscum­bia, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Carolyn was a retired school teacher who found great joy in seeing, and be­ing recognized by, her for­mer students around town. She was a proud Deshler graduate and member of the Colbert Landmark So­ciety. Carolyn was bless­ed to have many life-long friends, including a special group who regularly gath­ered for playing cards. She loved, and was loved by, her children, grandchil­dren, and great-grandchil­dren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Doug McCann; parents, Roddy and Irene Roberts; brothers, Till­man Roberts, John Roberts (Neil), and Preston “Bubba” Roberts (Lois); and sisters, Mary Roberts Hall (Carl) and Bettye Roberts Gilbert.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Ricky McCann (Jenny), Randy McCann (Karen), Rob McCann (Tana), and Ronnie Mc­Cann (Amanda); grandchil­dren, Jensi, Abbi-Storm, Will, Emily Kathryn, Lake, Chase, Evan, and Jessi­ca; seven great-grandchil­dren; special neighbor and friend, Pam Hannon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Jean C. Streit

Jean C. Streit, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. A private service will be held for the family with Jean’s grandson, Gregory “Greg” Wempe officiating. Inter­ment will be in Colbert Me­morial Gardens, Tuscumbia.

Jean was a member of York Bluff Baptist Church (formerly First Baptist Church, Sheffield), where she served faithfully in the nursery for many years, and was also a member of the WMU. Jean was also a mem­ber of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and Muscle Shoals District Service League. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Glov­er “Bud” Streit; sister, Ev­elyn Corbett Beaird; and parents, Louis Browne and Ada Sylvia Parenti Corbett.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Gail Streit Had­dock (Billy) and Nancy St­reit Wempe (Gregory); sis­ter, Nancy Corbett Qualls; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Susan Paulette Edmond­son Wallace, 78, Cherokee passed away on Thurs­day, July 17, 2025. Visita­tion will be Sunday, July 20, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, Cherokee. The fu­neral service will immedi­ately follow at the church with Dwight Rivers offici­ating. Interment will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Susan was a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, Cherokee Sad­dle Club, Cherokee Res­cue Squad and she was a retired school librarian for Cherokee Middle School. Susan was preceded in death by her husband Jack A. Wallace; parents, Paul and Montez Edmondson; brother, Johnny Edmond­son; sister, Linda Lee Kay.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wallace (Ja­mie); daughters, Melinda (Mindy) Wallace Cosby and Melissa (Missy) Hud­son (Sean); grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Lisa), Matt, Lay­la, Josie, Lydia and Liam; great grandchildren, Ame­lia, Marco Bobby; sev­eral nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dar­ryl Wallace, Mark Wal­lace, Chuck Kay, Wade Turberville, Rick Adams and Jason Borden. Hon­orary pallbearers will be Jimmy Tapp, Junior Wil­liams and Jerald Wallace.

Annie Ruth Wright, 82

Annie R. Wright, age 82, of Florence, Ala., died Friday, July 18, 2025. Vis­itation will be Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 2-3 p.m. at Morrison Funer­al Home, Central Heights. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Tim Haney of­ficiating. Burial will fol­low in Central Heights Community Cemetery.

Annie was a loving and devoted grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Sidney Hugh Wright; father, W.C. Rich and mother, Cora Rich; grandson, Jason Womble; brothers Bobby and Jr Rich; sister, Wylodean Martin and Virginia Burns.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Womble, Debbie Smith, and Steve Wright (Fonda); sister, Glo Marsh; grandchil­dren, Wayne Womble, Brandi Smith (Tito), Ter­ri Gourgeot (Zach), Hugh Wright, and Luke Wright; host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Letha Gatlin; brother, Wayne Gatlin and Gary Gatlin; and sister, Marilyn Jones.

He is survived by daugh­ter, Katie Clement (Bax­ter); grandchildren, Da­kota Clement and Janie Clement; extended fami­ly, Jack and Kathy Foster and Heather and Lauren.

Joseph Bruce Daily, 36

Joseph Bruce Daily, 36, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joseph was a member of Shady Grove Method­ist Church, Muscle Shoals, and Plumber and Pipefitters Local 760. He loved being outdoors and was an avid dirt bike rider. He enjoyed encouraging children to get involved in Motocross and teaching them about the sport. Joseph had a joyful spirit, always the life of the party and making people laugh. If someone was hav­ing a hard time, he had a way of lifting their spirits. Jo­seph’s greatest love was his son, Jackson Bruce Daily.

Along with his son, Joseph is survived by his parents, Bruce and Bonnie Daily; brothers, Matthew, Thomas, and Bruce Lee; grandmother, Delores T. Huzar “Bab­cia”; and Elizabeth Burden.

Patsy LaVerne Bishop

Sauls, 87

Patsy LaVerne “Mamaw” Bishop Sauls, 87, of Shef­field, AL passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 12;30 pm-2 p.m. at Colbert Me­morial Chapel with a ser­vice to follow at 2 pm in the chapel with burial to follow. Tony Ricketts will officiate. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Patsy owned and oper­ated several businesses in the Shoals including Square Deal Ornamental Iron, Hot Art, through which she pro­moted and operated craft shows throughout the United States, The Christmas Store, and Sports Cards Unlimit­ed, where she taught kids throughout the years of the benefits and importance of collecting memorabilia. The kids came to affectionately know her as, “Mamaw”. She was also a former Sheffield City Council Person. She was truly a well-rounded woman who could do any­thing. Her summers were filled with outdoor activi­ties, including her love of camping, fishing, and skiing with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and was loved by all. She was devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Sauls; parents, Os­car and Alice Bishop; and sister, Mavis Alsbrooks.

She is survived by her daughters, Annette Sauls Soldo (Dave), and Rhonda Eagleton (Monte); brother, Kenneth Bishop; sister, San­dra Marlow; grandchildren, Natasha “Teeny Bit” Taylor (Jeremy), Palmer Eagleton, Carson Eagleton, Navada Harvey (Matt), Chris Sol­do, and Brian Soldo; great grandchildren, Brynlie Tay­lor, Paityn Taylor, Jackson Harvey, Macy Soldo, Aryan­na Soldo, and Oliver Soldo.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Keeton, Tyler Keeton, Frank­ie Sauls, Dave Soldo, Jere­my Taylor, and Chet Young.

Jimmy Hugh

Nix, 87

Jimmy Hugh Nix was born on October 30, 1937 and died on July 14, 2025. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 12pm with funeral services following at 1pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Ben Hayes will be officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens. He was a member of High­land Park Church of Christ.

Jimmy loved a lot of things. He loved fishing, driving and fixing cars (so much so that he hand stitched the interior of his 1955 Chevy), mowing the grass, Alabama football, going to Disney World, slipping $20 and $100 bills into people’s hands, watch­ing hummingbirds, his job at Reynolds & Wise Alloys, working to make everyone’s lives better… but there’s nothing he loved more than his family and the Lord. His bride of 63 years, Ann, the pride of his life, his daugh­ter Tanya, his beloved son in law, Keith, his cherished granddaughters, Asia and Iva, and whole host of broth­er and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews. That’s what he loved most in the world.

Thankfully, he knew that there was more than just this world. He knew he’d be headed to spend eternity in paradise with Jesus. Jimmy left knowing that this wasn’t goodbye, that he had done his job leading his family so that one day, they’ll join him in Heaven. Isn’t that all we can ask for out of this life?

Pallbearers will be Keith Duren, Tyrus Mansell, Jarrod Bendall, Anthony Dempsey, and Gavin Mc­Gee. Honorary pallbear­ers will be Leon Strick­land and Charles Bendall.

Charles Wayne Jones, 85, of Tuscumbia, AL, passed away on Monday July 21, 2025. He was a member of the Church of Christ. A graveside service will be held on Thursday July 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Colbert Memorial Gardens with Stanley Lasater officiating.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Rob­ert Claude Jones and Mamie Florence Jones; 13 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Wayne Jones (Charmaine); daughters, Tanya Yvonne Campbell and Desiree Michelle Camp­bell; brother, James John­son; grandchildren, Sam Jones, Katie Jones, Kayden Jones, Cayleigh Jones, Ry­der Jones, Liam Erickson, Jacob Hartley, Gabrielle Belle; great-grandchildren, Archie Jones and Iyla Jones.

Joe Kenneth Vickers, 91

Joe Kenneth Vickers, 91, of Tuscumbia, AL, passed away on July 19, 2025. A private graveside service will be held for the fami­ly. Colbert Memorial will be assisting the family.

Joe was a proud veteran who devoted many years of his life to serving his coun­try in the Army National Guard. He was also an avid runner throughout his life, completing numerous mara­thons or running at the TVA trails. A part of his legacy lies in the countless lunches he spent at the City Cafe in Tuscumbia, AL. For years he could be found there talking with friends, neighbors, and anyone who stopped by.

He is preceded by his wife, Margaret Vick­ers; parents, Alton Vick­ers and Laverne Colbert; brother, Harry Vickers.

He is survived by his son, Ken Vickers (Janis); grandchildren, Joshua Vickers, Joseph Vickers, and Jamey Vickers (Brit­tney); great-grandchildren, Carter Weeks and Char­lee Kate Vickers; niece, Leann Richards (Butch).

Elizabeth Cooley McCammon, 80

Carolyn Elizabeth Cooley McCammon, 80, Cropwell, AL, passed away on Tues­day, July 15, 2025. A memo­rial service will be held on Friday, July 18, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscum­bia, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Carolyn was a member of the Methodist Church and a beloved wife, moth­er, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McCammon; par­ents, Oscar and Alta Cool­ey; and siblings, Shirley Huckleby, Buddy Cooley, Pat Cooley, Eldon Cooley, Delbert Cooley, D.O. Cool­ey, and Herbert Cooley.

She is survived by her son, Robert McCammon (Kathi); sister, Glenda Allen; grand­children, Will and Rachael Burcham, James and Lindsay Walls, and Sarah McCam­mon; and great-grandchil­dren, Cahnan and Armorie Wallace, and Lillie Walls.
