Trula Mae

McBrayer, 85

Trula Mae McBrayer, 85, Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Visitation will be Satur­day, April 5, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Fu­neral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Sunday, April 6, in the funeral home chapel be­ginning at 3:00 p.m. with Rod Stansky officiating. Interment will be Mitch­ell Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Trula was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Trula was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Mc­Brayer; parents, Bradford and Winnie Gilliland; grand­daughter, Samantha Woods; great-grandson, Cody Alex McBrayer; and seven brothers.

Trula is survived by her children, Bennie McBray­er (Donna), Lloyd Mc­Brayer (Alina), Charles McBrayer (Bonnie), and Sharon Copeland (Jerome); grandchildren, Robert Mc­Brayer, Corey McBrayer, Winnie Davenport, Man­dy McBrayer, Mac Sea­mons, Chassity Staggs, Joseph McBrayer, Daniel McBrayer, Cory Copeland, Phil Hodsdon, and Shar­lett Owens; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joseph McBrayer, Daniel McBrayer, Cory Copeland, Phil Hods­don, James Owens, Mac Seamons, Austin Seamons, and William McCollum.

Sheryl Dianne Foster

Cooper, 52

Sheryl Dianne Foster Cooper, 52, Muscle Shoals, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 29, 2025, after a lengthy illness. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ford City Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will immedi­ately follow at the church.

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Kerry Eugene Cooper; her parents, Mar­shall and Deborah Foster; her sisters, Janice Howard (Kelvin) and Marcy Foster; aunt, Sarah Foster Hurst, who was like a second mother; Justin Childers, whom she claimed as her own; Kerri Locker, who was more sister than cousin; spe­cial nephews, Jaycee Foster and Sam Howard; nieces, Janna Prestage and Lorrie Glover; friends with whom she was especially close, Eunice and Tina Simmons, Melanie Bakker, Margaret Austin, and the Terry fami­ly; and a host of family and friends too many to mention.

The family offers special thanks to members of Keller EMS; Colbert County Fire and Rescue in Ford City; the many dedicated nurses and doctors that cared for Sher­yl during her long illness at NAMC; and the staffs of The Dialysis Centers and Glenwood Nursing Home.

Debbie Jean Beasley, 69

Debbie Jean Beasley, 69, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025. There will be a memorial visitation on Tuesday, April 8, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The memorial service will immediately follow with Tiffany Dostica officiating.

First and foremost, Debbie loved her family uncondi­tionally. She was a native of Cherokee, Alabama and was a devoted Alabama fan. She proudly cheered on the Crim­son Tide. Debbie found joy in the simple things in life like shopping, fishing, play­ing solitaire and listening to music. Above all she loved to spend time with family. Debbie loved hard, laughed loud, was classy and sassy! She will be deeply missed!

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Ken­neth Beasley; mother, Weba A. Pope; son, Chad Alder­man; stepdaughter, Alison Beasley; brother and sister-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Pope and Shelia Pope; and sister and brother-in-law, Cindy Woody and Bruce Woody.

She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Dosti­ca (Kyle); brother, Clifford “Dinker” Pope II (Charlean); grandchildren, Bailey, Kaylee, Noah, Asher, Hunter, Mason, and Levi; and numer­ous nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved dearly.

Donna Sutton Hennigan

Donna Sutton Hennigan passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, after a heart­breakingly short but fiercely brave battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

Donna retired from the state of Alabama after 30 years of ser­vice at the Lurleen B. Wallace Center. A gifted baker, she was known for her sweet treats. No family celebration was complete without her signature desserts.

She shared her life with her beloved husband of 19 years, Sean Hennigan. Together, they gave love and shelter to 61 abandoned or neglected dogs over the years, offering them safety and a second chance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sut­ton and Ellen Sutton; sis­ter, Terri Oliver; and her faithful companion, Tater.

She is survived by her hus­band Sean; sister, Patti Pietrows­ki; mother-in-law, Judy Hen­nigan (who she affectionately called Ma); and cherished res­cue Bubba, who only she could pet. She is also survived by her nieces Heather Weaver and Jenny Bowers; nephews, Ryan Pietrowski and Dalton Kerby; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Denise Kerby.

We would like to thank Dr. Priyadarshi, PCU staff at Vanderbilt Wilson, and Ala­bama Hospice of the Shoals. Donna’s family misses her wicked sense of humor and compassionate, giving heart.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude.

Sharon Kay

Wingo, 67

Sharon Kay Wingo, 67, Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Vis­itation will be Friday, April 4, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with David Conley and Ed White officiating. Interment will be in Oak­wood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Kay loved everybody. She raised a lot of kids, while not having any of her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Nell Wingo.

Kay is survived by her brother, Dennis Wingo (Peggy); sisters, Sandra Archer (O’Neal) and Ruby Chandler (Ricky); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Luke Archer; Darrell Vandiver; Johnny Pounders; and spe­cial great-nephews, Dakota, Peyton, and Bristol Vandiver.

Carol Faye Smith Hargett, 76

Carol Faye Smith Har­gett, 76, passed away April 5, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home, Florence. She was a member of Beth­saida Baptist Church, Rus­sellville. She was preced­ed in death by her parents, Charles O. Smith, Jr. and Faye McClung Smith Mc­Carver; son, Jason Hargett; daughter, April Hargett.

Carol is survived by her husband, Stanley Hargett; daughter, Angie Solley (Jackie); grandson, Levi James; granddaughter, Leah Townsend (Brice); step granddaughter, Autumn Hatton (Hayden); brother, Sammy Smith (Suzanne); nephew, Craig Smith; niece, Leigh Ann James (Brad). The pallbearers will be Da­vid Gaston, Ronnie Gaston, Craig Smith, Brad James, Johnny Thornton, Gary Uhl­man and Burt Balentine.

The visitation will be Monday April 7, 2025, from 12:00-2:00pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel with the service to follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Dennis Stewart. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville. The family would like to ex­tend special thanks to the staff at Mitchell Holling­sworth Nursing Home.

Sarah Nell

McDaniel, 88

Sarah Nell McDaniel, 88, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 2-3 p.m. at Shady Grove Methodist Church with a ser­vice to follow at 3 p.m. Rich­ard Marks and Coy Hallmark will be officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Sarah loved being part of Shady Grove Meth­odist Church. She was a member all her life and loved serving there.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Frank McDaniel; sisters, Clarice Schulte, Inez Hallmark, Margaret Matlock, Bernice Blount, and Eva Jean Morris.

She is survived by her children, Stephen McDaniel (Nannette) and Phyllis Mc­Daniel-Reilly (Bob); grand­children, Stephanie, Keenan, Brianna, Bradley, Allison, and Nicole; great grandchil­dren, Kylie and Kamiyah; sister, Sue Dixon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Peter Joseph Tarascou, Jr., 74

Peter Joseph Tarascou, Jr, a devoted husband, father, grand­father and great-grandfather died on Monday, March 31 at the age of 74 surrounded by his family. Known for his kind smile, he was as quick to make a friend as he was to lend a hand when there was work to be done.

He is survived by his wife Cathy, his children Greg and his wife Rochelle, Jamie and her husband Chase, his son Mark, Jim and his wife Becky, his son Tommy, and daughter Kristy and her husband Bri­an; his grandchildren Chris, Gillian, Ryan, MacKenzie, Stetson, ShayLee, Shyanne, Shane, Mason, Hilary, Dakota and Nathan and great-grand­children Jukes and Brooks.

Peter was born in Upland, California on May 6, 1950 to Peter Tarascou, Senior and Murtis Earp Tarascou. Raised on a farm, his dedication to hard work and his family never waned, moving from Califor­nia to their dream horse ranch in Leighton, Alabama in 1993. Here he continued to work with his hands in trade professions while maintaining their func­tioning ranch with his family. He enjoyed spending time out­doors, playing games with his kids and spending his quiet time with Cathy, his wife of 29 years. He will be greatly missed.

Martha Ann Trousdale, 79

Martha Ann Trousdale, age 79, of Muscle Shoals, passed away March 29, 2025. Visi­tation will be Thursday, April 3 from 11am to 12pm at Wil­liams Funeral Home of Flor­ence with the service starting at noon. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens and David Byrd officiating.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dewey Wes­ley Zills; mother, Leva Mae Zills; husband, Bobby Nelson Trousdale; brother, Robert Zills; and sister, Dorothy Zills.

Martha is survived by her children, Jason Parker Trous­dale and Jeremy Nelson Trousdale; brother, Owen Zills (Susan); sister, Barbra Thoma­son (Kenneth); grandchildren, Zoe Faith Tubbs (Chase) and Ashley Von Trousdale (Hunt­er Hines); and great-grand­son, Buckley Rhett Michaels.

Martha was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished Nana to her granddaughters. She found joy in gardening, antiquing, and hunting for beautiful Fiestaware pieces. A passionate collector, Mar­tha accumulated a vast array of Coca-Cola and NASCAR memorabilia, along with her be­loved Fiestaware dishes. How­ever, the thing she treasured most in life was her family.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregiv­ers at El Reposo Nursing facility for their love and compassion during this time.

William Carter Reid, 87

William Carter Reid, 87, departed this life on March 29, 2025.

His family will receive family and friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscum­bia. His memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Grant Azbell officiating. Inter­ment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Carter was a true believer in Christ and His sacrifice for our sin. He was an active charter member of the Mag­nolia Church of Christ fam­ily. His major interest was benevolence. He worked with the benevolence com­mittee at Magnolia and was a supporter of The Heal­ing Place. He served on the board of directors at Mars Hill Bible School and was a row crop and cattle farmer. Carter was born and raised in Cherokee, Alabama. In 1956 he graduated from Cherokee Vocational High School. His major interest was foot­ball. He lettered four years, played center, and was se­lected as the All Tri-County Center in 1956. Carter mar­ried his high school sweet­heart, Glenda Barnett. They were married 68 years and 7 months. They were bless­ed with two children, a son, Patrick Scott, and a daugh­ter, Rebecca Elise. He was preceded in death by his daughter; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Carter Reid; his father, William Elbert Reid; his grandfather, Arthur Ra­math Carter; his grand­mother, Rebecca Carter; and his grandfather, Will Reid.

Carter is survived by his wife, Glenda, of Florence; son, Scott, of Rock City Falls, NY; granddaugh­ter, Katie Reid, of Glens Falls, NY; grandson, Will (Kate), and great-grandson, Max, of Needham, MA.

The family expresses gratitude to the dedicat­ed staff at their new home, Cedar View Assisted Liv­ing in Killen, and the doc­tors and nurses at North Alabama Medical Center for their excellent care.
