Seth Edward Lewey, 58, of Russellville, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Colbert Heights. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with Bro. Seth Hood officiating. Interment will be in Vandiver Hollow Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Seth was the Assistant Principal at Colbert Heights Elementary School. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry E. Lewey.
Seth is survived by his wife, Leslie Lewey; daughters, Amie Belle Sosa, Jacie Grace Vinson, and Carlie Beth Gibson; mother, Joyce Lewey; brothers, Gene Lewey (Suzan) and Curtis Lewey (Ginger); sister, Martha Muse (David); grandchildren, Seraphine Frances Abreu and Sindel Rose Abreu; and special aunt, Kathy Holland.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Cummings, Curtis Burns, Shannon McGregory, Bradley Coan, Brad King, and George Brackin.
Dwight Steven Davis, 61
Dwight Steven Davis, 61, of Littleville, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 22, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Tommy Crowden officiating.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Davis; father, W.D. Davis; sister, Donna Davis; and great-grandson, Greyson Wray Young.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Renae Davis; children, Whitney Nichole Davis, Jana Leigh Black, and Jamie Kurk Black; brother, Wayne Davis; grandchildren, Alexia Danielle Duhamel, Aedyn Dennis Horton, Baileigh Shyann Duhamel, and Amiyah Nichole Doss; and lifelong friend, Danny Puckett.

Deborah Ledlow Brewer Hayes, 55
Deborah Ledlow Brewer Hayes, 55, of Sheffield, passed away, Monday, January 19, 2026. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM until Noon at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will begin immediately after in the funeral home chapel with Avon White and Jonathan White officiating. Burial will be at Murphys Chapel Cemetery.
She graduated from Colbert County High School and Shoals Community College with a degree in cosmetology and welding, Deborah spent most of her career in the restaurant business. She was a loving and caring person and never met a stranger. Deborah was always there for the ones she loved especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Ledlow; grandparents, Jason and Mattie White and Frank and Martha Ledlow.
Deborah is survived by her significant other, O’ Neal Bates Sr.; mother and stepfather, Doris and Roger Stevens; children, Olivia Brewer; stepchildren, Ashley Anderson (Carlos) and Brittany Bogle; brothers, Bradley Ledlow (Deanne); stepbrothers, Eric Stevens (Carrie), Andrew Stevens ( Rheanna), Wayne Stevens ( Fauna); stepsister, Leslie Nicholas (Steve); grandchildren, Andre Glenn Jr., Mila Skye Mason; step grandchildren, Skylar Brewer, Ty’nyia Stewart (Elvin), Kabruim Stewart Jr.; Reighgan Petty, George Petty Jr., Caden Brewer, Emma Trousdale, Landon Trousdale, Bobby Singh; great-grandchild, Ma’lani Luna.
Pallbearers will be Harold White, Ronald White, Gary Ledlow, Casey Ledlow, Brady Ledlow, J.R. Young, Travis Young, and Brian Elliott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Elliott, Andre Glenn Jr, Ayden Ledlow, and Slaton Ledlow.
The family would like to thank the Drs and nurses in the ICU and Palliative care at Helen Keller.

Johnson, 86
David Hugh Johnson, 86, of Sheffield, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at Magnolia Gardens, Corinth, Mississippi, beginning at 2:30 p.m. with David Clark officiating.
David was a native and lifelong resident of Sheffield, and a member of Sheffield High School Class of 1957. He attended First Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. David was a member of the Alabama Army National Guard and retired from Ford Motor Company, as well as Wise Alloys. He volunteered at both Helen Keller Memorial Hospital and Shoals Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kiser Johnson; son, Chris Johnson; parents, Chester and Charline Johnson; and sisters, Charlotte King and Connie Burleson.
David is survived by his daughter, Paige Rushing (Keith) of Muscle Shoals; sister, Vicki Clark (David) of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Ben Ridgeway (Katie) and Alex Ridgeway (Marlee) of Tuscumbia, and Alexus Johnson of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Hudson, Romi, Margot, and Riley, and one on the way, Penelope; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Ben Ridgeway, Alex Ridgeway, Ben King, Andy Clark, Drew Clark, and Ethan Tedder. Lawrence King will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Special thanks go to Becky Bordan, Jane Harbin, Debra Trevino, Juanita Holland, Libby Williams and the staffs at Happier At Home and Aveanna Hospice for helping me care for my dad.

Gene Edward Abernathy, 76, of Florence, passed away, Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Funeral Services will be graveside Wednesday, January 28, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM at Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery with Brother Larry Burbank officiating.
He loved Squirrel hunting and Alabama Football. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Willy and Mary Abernathy; brothers, Eli, Tommy Lee, RH, Willie Earl, Donnie, and baby boy; sisters, Mary Ruth Myrick, Helen Liles, Lou Jean Chaney, Betty Sue Marks, Louise Myhan, and Virginia Frazier.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Abernathy; children, Roger Abernathy, Susan Abernathy, and Tim Abernathy; grandchildren, Cobey Clanton (Savannah), Brady Burbank, Logan Brannon (Savannah), and Charlie Hatchett; great-grandchildren, Cailen Burbank, Brantley Clanton, Anna’Rae Clanton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Evelyn Lavern Zillis, 81
Evelyn Lavern Zills, age 81, of Tuscumbia passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 28, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. David Conley will officiate. Interment will follow in Guy Cemetery.
A native of Colbert County, Evelyn was born on February 15, 1944 to Finis and Capitola Byrd Smallwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ross Zills, and ten siblings. Evelyn was a Christian, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Those left to mourn her the most include daughters, Mary Hubbert (Tommy Hubbert) and Evelyn Garrison (Marty Goss); brother, Buddy Smallwood; grandchildren, April Southern (Joe), Corey Hubbert (Hannah), Issac Garrison (Melissa), Tyler Miller, and Nathan Garrison (Brooke); twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Family members will serve as pallbearers, namely Corey Hubbert, Joe Southern, Jaxon Southern, Issac Garrison, Nathan Garrison, and Tyler Miller.

The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Scott Livingston officiating. Interment will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ray “Rabbit” Cain; parents, Vernon and Beulah Benson; sisters, Helen and Joyce, and brother Larry Benson; and great-grandson, Sebastian Ridge Patterson.
She is survived by her sons, James T. Patterson (Brandi), Rodney Patterson (Debbie), Daryl Patterson (Natalie), and Shane Patterson (Becky); stepchildren, Debbie Bowing, Jamie Cain, and Ray Cain; brother, Steve Benson; sister, Shannon Algren; grandchildren, Shawn Patterson, Dewayne Patterson, Tyler Patterson, Cameron Patterson, Laken Cole, Brooke Patterson, Kaylee Patterson, Kash Patterson, Payton Patterson, Lexie Patterson, Chris Patterson, and Brandon Patterson; and numerous great-grandchildren.
