Kenneth Mark Borden, 51

Kenneth Mark Borden, 51, Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funer­al Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Fri­day, May 2, in the funeral home chapel, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Brian Van­diver officiating. Interment will be in Isbell Chap­el Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Mark was a lifelong resi­dent of Colbert County. He was a Master Craftsman carpenter and a Jack-of-all-trades. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. Mark was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Jimmie Susette Borden; children, Marcus Rex Borden (Beth­any) and Alexandria Nicole Walker; father, Kenneth Joe Borden; sister, Tammy Berryman (Chris); sister-in-law, Tammie Amburn (Dar­rin); grandchildren, Brody Cash Borden, Vivian Blake Borden, Sawyer Thomas Borden, Jaxon James Bor­den, and Cooper Rex Bor­den, who is due in June; nieces and nephews; and so many cousins and family whom Mark loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Jay Castile, Jeffie Borden, Benjie Newell, Brody Van­diver, Jason Wallace, and Darrin “DJ” Jackson. Bro­dy Cash Borden will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Trevor Shawn Malone, 30

Trevor Shawn Malone, 30, Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A visitation will be Friday, May 2, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Fu­neral Home, Tuscumbia.

Trevor was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ and a member of the 2013 graduating class of Mus­cle Shoals High School. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and took great pride in receiv­ing his CDL license. Trevor was employed at Clark Gas Company. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Alvis Wayne Power and Charles Wilburn Malone.

Trevor is survived by his parents, Shawn and Lisa Malone; brother, Drew Malone; grandmothers, Johnnie Power and Nancy Hester (Van); aunts, Tessie Hester (Steven) and JuJu Morson (Kenny); uncle, Mi­chael Power; friends, Chan­dler Hawn and Johnathan Tenneyson, whom he consid­ered brothers; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Joyce Dale

Hatton, 82

Joyce Dale Hatton, 82, Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside ser­vice will follow at Poplar Creek Cemetery, Leighton, beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Michael Jackson officiating.

Joyce was a volunteer at the LaGrange Rescue Squad. She was preced­ed in death by her parents, Jewel and Gracie Jackson; brothers, Kenneth Jack­son and Ronald Jackson; niece, Amanda Byrd, and nephew, Alex Wellman.

Joyce is survived by her brothers, Donald Jackson and Bradley Jackson; sis­ter, Ann Stockman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Marshall J.

Foster, 74

Marshall J. Foster, 74, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ford City Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals. A memo­rial service will immedi­ately follow at the church with Keith Prince and Sam Howard officiating.

Marshall was a lov­ing husband, father, and grandfather. He was pre­ceded in death by his fa­ther, Earl Foster; mother, Peggy Foster; and daugh­ter, Sheryl Foster Cooper.

Marshall is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Deborah Dianne Scott Fos­ter; daughters, Janice Marie Foster Howard and Marcy Joan Foster; brothers, Carl Foster (Donna) and Jack Foster; sisters, Rebecca Foster Hallmark (Bobby), Sarah Jane Foster Hurst (the late Paul), and Sally Foster Bryant (Chris); grandchil­dren, Janna Mae Howard Prestage (Devin), Samuel Ray Howard (Madalan), and Jaycee Adae Foster(Sarah Kate); great-grandchildren, Layne, Rylan, River, Liv­ie, and Ezra Prestage, and Eyla and Everly Howard; and sons-in-law, Kelvin Howard (Janice) and Ker­ry Cooper (the late Sheryl).

Sherri Denise Bolton

Randolph, 55

Sherri Denise Bolton Randolph, 55, (November 18, 1969-April 27, 2025) longtime resident of Rus­sellville AL passed away peacefully on 27th, April 2025, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham after an extended illness.

Sherri retired from the USDA as an inspector having worked for many years at the Pilgrim’s Pride. She loved being at home tending to her gardens and home school­ing her daughter Olivia.

Sherri is preceded in death by her infant son; Hunter Joe Clark, moth­er; Joyce Maxine Garrett Bolton, grandparents David Pickens Bolton Jr, Bertie Grace Wells, Ruby Terry O’Dell and Sam Garrett.

Sherri was a loving moth­er to her daughter, Brook­lyn Olivia Randoph, sons, Timothy James Balcom, James Peyton Bolton (Ki­erra). Proud grandmother to Alyiah Bolton. Her chil­dren and granddaughter were her pride and joy.

Sherri is survived by her loving and devoted hus­band, William Lance Ran­dolph; father, James W. Bolton (Christina); brother, Eddie Bolton (Joan); sis­ter, Suzanne Bolton; niece Nikki Harris Ozbirn (Con­nor); nephews Luke Har­ris; Cory Bolton (Amanda); Evan Bolton (Amanda).

A Memorial Service will be held on 30, April, 2025, at 3 pm at Colbert Memo­rial Gardens with Pastor Bobby Randolph officiating.

We rejoice that Sherri is healed and in his eternal home with her mother, in­fant son and family mem­bers that have gone before and prepared her place. We want to say a special thank you to the thoughtful and caring teams of doc­tors and nurses at NAMC and UAB CPCCU, SICU and Palliative care units.

Charles Leo Luman, 93

Charles Leo Luman, 93, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 12-1 p.m. at First Methodist Church of Tuscumbia with a service to follow at 1 p.m. Rev. Alan Beasley will be officiat­ing. Burial will be held in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

He was a member of First Methodist Church of Tuscumbia. Charles was valedictorian of his class at Life Bible College. He was a Boy Scout Master for Troop 48 in Muscle Shoals.

He was preceded in death by his son, Philip Luman; brother, David; and sister, Mildred Sue.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elizabeth Luman; children, Mark Luman (Whitney), Jona­than Luman (Susan), and Debora Ahlstrom (Robert); grandchildren, Christo­pher, Tess, Bryce, Robby, and Danielle (Clay); broth­er, Mike Buckley (Chris­tine), and numerous niec­es, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be mem­bers of the Character Build­ers Sunday School Class.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Helen Keller Hospital for their loving care for Charles.

Barbara Jean Horton

Strange, 84

Barbara Jean Horton Strange passed from this life April 23, 2025. She was a resident of Acworth, Geor­gia, but lived most of her life in Sheffield, AL. She was a member of the Sheffield

High School Class of ’59. She was a Christian and worshipped with God’s family at the Highland Park church of Christ.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Percy and Eleanor Horton; grand­parents, George and

Lena Horton and Lonnie and Mary White; the fa­ther of her children, Brad­ley Strange; daughter-

in-law Ginger Strange (David), sister, Faye Chastain, brother-in-law, Wayne Chastain and

niece, Ginger Chastain.

She is survived by her son, David Strange; daughter, Alicia Eddings (Robert); grandchildren,

Dusty Strange (Hope), Hannah Burleson (Matt), Daniel Eddings; great-grandchildren, Manna

Burleson, Asher Burleson, Asa Burleson and Anakyn Strange; broth­er James Horton (Rose);

several nieces and neph­ews and her church family.

A memorial service will be held in her honor Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Highland Park Church of

Christ in Muscle Shoals, AL on May 4. Visitation will be from 1 – 2 PM. The service will begin at 2 PM. Officiating will be Ben Hayes, Matt Burleson, and Michael Brooks.

Robbie Gargis Chiado, age 78 of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away Fri­day May 2, 2025. Visita­tion will be Tuesday May 6, 2025 from 11:00-12:00 with a graveside service to follow at 12:00 in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Offici­ating will be Rod Stansky.

Survivors include; hus­band, Emil Chiado, daugh­ter, Tammy Oliver (Scott Henninger), brother, Bruce Gargis (Jane), sister, Bren­da Robertson, grandchil­dren, A J Oliver Hubbard (Mark), great grandchildren, Caroline Cash Hubbard and Chase Oliver Hubbard.

Beavers, 75

Ben Larry Beavers, 75, Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funer­al Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will imme­diately follow in the funer­al home chapel with bro. Shane Swinney officiating. Interment will be in Oak­wood Cemetery, Sheffield.

Ben was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. and a member of Launch Point Church Tuscumbia. He was the owner and operator of Southeastern Concrete. Ben was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grand­father. He loved watching his boys and grandchildren play ball. He never missed a practice or a game. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Juan­ita Beavers; and in-laws, Junior and Hazel Grissom.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Glenda Beavers; sons, Shane Beavers (Mandy) and Brett Beavers; grandchil­dren, Blake, Drake (Sum­mer), Jordan (Madison), Ali Beth (David), and Savana (Justin); eight great-grand­children, Kasen, Harper, Finleigh, Wrenleigh, Wa­verly, Whitley, Baylor, and Mylee; and sister-in-law, Janice Ellison (Chris).

J.T. George, 75

J.T. George, 75, Cherokee, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. A graveside service will be held Sun­day, May 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Barton Cemetery, Cherokee.

J.T. was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Ethel George; and sis­ter-in-law, Patsy George.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda George Deaton (Brandon) and Laura George White: brother, Billy George; grandchildren, Erin Deaton Hardesty (Braydee), Heath White (Brittany), Hunter White, and Tyler George; and great-grand­children; Kinsley George, Nora Holden, Addi White, Ellslee White, Forrest White.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Ricky Dale Tubbs, 67

Ricky Dale Tubbs, 67, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Barton Baptist Church.

Ricky was a native and lifelong resident of Colbert County. He was a loving and devoted husband, fa­ther, and grandfather. He retired from Bigbee Steel and enjoyed woodworking.

Ricky was preced­ed in death by his fa­ther, Robert Tubbs.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Melisa Tubbs; children, Taft Tubbs (Marcie), Nich­olas Tubbs (Mellissa), and Jessica Neives; moth­er, Shirley Tubbs; broth­ers, Tony Tubbs and Jeff Tubbs; six grandchildren; two great grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family expresses special thanks to Com­passus for all the care and support they gave Ricky.

White, 96

Hazel Irene Wallace White, 96, of Tuscumbia, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 7, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will im­mediately follow in the fu­neral home chapel with Ed White and Sidney White of­ficiating. Interment will be at Shoals Memorial Gardens.

Hazel was a native of Ar­kansas and was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. White; parents, R.O. and Samantha Wallace; sisters, Pauline Emmanuel and Gladys Wallace; and broth­ers, Walter, R.O., Forrest, Horace, and Sidney Wallace.

Hazel is survived by her stepchildren, Ed White (Fay), Helen Wade (David), and Sidney White (Ann); 9 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Billy Dan Hames, 77

Billy “Bill” Dan Hames, age 77, of Muscle Shoals passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 noon with Austin Johnson and Brian Jarrett officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memo­rial Gardens in Florence. Pallbearers will be Scott Hames, Blake Westmore­land, Noah Westmoreland, Seth Crocker, Taylor Ho­gan, and Carson Thrasher.

Bill was born on March 15, 1948 in Waynesboro Tennessee to the late Boone Hames and the late Vio­la Hames. He was a 1966 graduate of Hardin County High School in Savannah Tennessee. He married Brenda Mance on Septem­ber 21, 1968 and they shared almost 57 years of marriage.

Bill proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Kitty Hawk and was awarded various hon­ors including a National Defense Service Medal, a Navy Unit Commendation, a Vietnam Service Medal With One Bronze Star, and a First Good Conduct Medal Award. Following his mil­itary service, he earned an Associates Degree in Busi­ness from Faulkner Univer­sity. Throughout his life, he was employed by various companies including a job in finance, Farm Best Dair­ies, and Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Soci­ety where he worked for 25 years as a field representa­tive and area manager. Lat­er, he would work for SCA for 7 years until he retired.

Bill was a faithful mem­ber of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ for many years and during that time served in various capaci­ties including Bible class teacher, deacon, and elder. He loved fishing with his friends and family, garden­ing, woodworking, repair­ing lawnmowers and cars, and especially enjoyed helping others. Bill also loved taking spontaneous road trips with his children and grandchildren and tak­ing them target shooting.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Boone and Viola Hames of Savannah Tennessee and his siblings Kathryn Flippo, Frances Hardin, James Hardin, Max­ine Handley, and Sue Nell Pinson. He is survived by his wife Brenda Hames and his children Suzanne Simp­son (Johnny) of Florence, AL, Stephanie Westmore­land (Trey) of Madison, AL, Sarah Humphries (Kevin) of Cedar Park, TX and Scott Hames of Muscle Shoals.

He was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Savannah Hogan (Taylor) of Harvest, AL, Olivia Crocker (Seth) of Florence, AL, Lillian Humphries of Cedar Park, TX, Blake Westmoreland of Madison, AL, Sophie Simpson of Florence, AL, and Noah Westmoreland of Madison, AL, and 2 great-grandchildren Nora Hogan and Millie Crocker.

The family wishes to ex­tend a special thank you to Dr. Zachary Thompson, Dr. Jerry Williams, and the entire NAMC critical care staff for the excellent sup­port and care they provided.
