Steve Allison, 74

Steve Allison, 74, of Florence, passed away, February 24, 2025. There will be a visitation Satur­day, March 8, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. A memori­al service will follow with Larry Burbank and Wayne Wood officiating. Casual fishing attire or Alabama apparel requested by family.

He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. Steve enjoyed fishing , jigsaw puzzles, was an Alabama “Roll Tide” fan, and spend­ing time with his grand­children. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Darnell Allison; sister, Rose White; brothers Jerry Allison and Ricky Allison.

Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Juantia Allison; sons, Adam Alli­son (Wendy) and Preston Allison (Heather); broth­er-in-law, Jimmy White; grandchildren, Cole Alli­son, Katie Allison, Bryant Allison, and Lucas Allison.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Dowdy, Vernon Allison, Thomas Young, Ricky Haggard, John Boat­wright, Ricky Wood, Wayne Green, and Terry Johnson.

The family would like to thank Ricardo Carter and Mi­cheal Larkin for being there when they needed them.

In Lieu of flowers memo­rial may be made to St. Jude hospital in Steve’s honor.

Levina Rose Sizemore, 69

Levina Rose Sizemore, age 69, of Florence, passed away on February 17, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Reatha John­son; brother, Joe Sizemore; and sister, Tina Sizemore.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Hall, and Tracy Purser; along with her siblings, Greg Size­more, and Eric Sizemore.

Levina is a native of Tuscumbia. She brought joy to many through her house cleaning services. She had many hobbies, but her favorite past time was spent with her family and loved ones. Mrs. Size­more will be deeply missed.

Walter Edward O’Brien, 68

Walter Edward O’Brien passed away at his home on Riverview Drive, Mus­cle Shoals, Alabama Febru­ary 28 due to a recurrence of esophageal cancer. Walt was sixty-eight. Walt was a lifelong resident of the Shoals area, born in Shef­field and growing up in Flor­ence. He was the fifth child of Evelyn Bowe O’Brien and Dr. Donald J O’Brien.

Walt attended Coffee High School for two years, and then was a graduate of The Baylor Prep School, Chattanooga, Tenn. He ma­triculated at the Universi­ty of Alabama. He was a member of SAE fraternity and graduated in 1979. Walt was an accomplished bas­ketball player on the Baylor School varsity. His athletic skills continued throughout life, water skiing adroitly for decades into his early fifties. Walt enjoyed a va­riety of subjects. He was a voracious learner, becoming very knowledgeable in com­petitive sports, race cars, motorcycles, and boats. His friends enjoyed his quick wit and and he made good acquaintances easily.

Walt is survived by his older brother Donald Jo­seph O’Brien ll, of Little Rock, Arkansas; niece Kim­berly O’Brien McKimmon of Mountain Brook Ala­bama (Hunt, John, Char­lie); nephew Donald Joseph O’Brien lll of Greensboro, North Carolina (Meg, Ed­gar, Weezie); nephew Bowe O’Brien, Nashville Ten­nessee (Stephanie, Wylder, Jude, Birdie); nephew Don­ald Grady, of Washington DC; and nephew Martin Grady, Atlanta Georgia (Maggie, Kevin, Elisabeth).

Walt is resting at Mor­rison Funeral Home, Tus­cumbia, Al. He will be in eternal rejoice in the family gravesite next to his Moth­er Evelyn, his father Dr. Don, his brother John, and his brother Dr. Jim. Father Jonathan Howell, Pastor St Joseph’s Catholic Church is gracing the funeral ser­vice at Greenview Memorial Park, 11 am Tuesday March 4. In lieu of flowers, Memo­rials are welcomed in Walt’s name to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 203 Plum Street, Florence Alabama, 35630.

Lynn Reid

Causey, 82

Lynn Reid Causey, 82, a resident of Russellville, Al­abama since 1994, passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s on Febru­ary 25, 2025, at his daugh­ter’s home in Florence, Alabama. No services are scheduled at this time.

He was born November 4, 1942, to Jesse William, J.W. or “Judge”, Causey and Susan Cameron Ferguson in Brittany, Louisiana. He graduated from LSU with a degree in Mechanical Engi­neering and worked at Ethel Corporation in Baton Rouge for many years before tran­sitioning to an engineering and manufacturing business with several family mem­bers, spending the final 17 years of his career as pres­ident of Roadway Manufac­turing in Russellville, AL.

Lynn was a lifelong mem­ber of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in several leader­ship positions. He was a Scoutmaster. He loved fish­ing, learning to fish as a young boy with his cousins in the bayous around his home in south Louisiana, and passed that on to his children and grandchildren.

Lynn married Peggy Lor­raine Heirtzler of Zachary, Louisiana, on December 20, 1962. He is survived by his wife; 2 brothers : Daniel Causey (Brittany, LA) and Roger Causey (Russellville, AL); three children : Denise (Kyle) McIntire of Mobile, AL, Julie Causey of Flor­ence, AL, David (Tammie) Causey of Indian Springs, NC; 8 grandchildren : Eric Lyon (Florence, AL), Forrest Lyon, MD (Booneville, MS), Mary Ellis (Spring, TX), Kendrick Lyon (Mobile, AL), Emberlee Causey (Port St Lucie, FL), Breanna Cau­sey (Charlotte, NC), Gabri­elle Causey (Indian Springs, NC), and Angelina Cau­sey (Indian Springs, NC); and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two broth­ers: Fred Causey (Vicks­burg, MS) and Donald Causey (Brittany, LA); and two sisters: Judy Causey (Brittany, LA) and Bren­da Causey (Brittany, LA).

Glinda “Faye” Burcham

Glinda “Faye” Burcham, was the daughter of James Whitten Robinson and Glad­ys Vivian Willingham. She passed peacefully on Tues­day, February 25, 2025, at 1:18 a.m. at Helen Keller Hospital. A private service will be held for the family.

Everyone called her Gran­ny Faye. She was sweet and loving and she always had open arms. Granny Faye was sassy and spunky and al­ways had a joke. She worked in a sewing factory for most of her life and loved to sew. Granny Faye was an avid movie lover. Anything with John Wayne and the mov­ie Twister were two of her favorites. She was preced­ed in death by her parents; brother, James “Ronnie” Robinson; and sisters, Joyce Green and Lyrica Scott.

Granny Faye is survived by her children, Sherry Petrone and Jerry “Randy” Malone, both of Corinth, MS, Sebrina Benson, of Tus­cumbia, and Kayla Safford (biological granddaughter), of Florence; grandchildren, Chris, Hope, Faith, Vivian, Cody, Chloe, Daniel, Cathy, and more; and great-grand­children, Jameson, Greyson, Robbie, and more.

Bobby Ray

McCalpin, Sr., 75

Bobby Ray McCalpin Sr., 75, of Tuscumbia, AL, passed away on February 28, 2025. Visitation will be held at Colbert Memorial Chapel on March 4, 2025 from 1-2 with a service to follow at 2. Seth Hood will be officiating the service. Burial will be held in Col­bert Memorial Gardens.

You could often find Bob tending to his yard with pride. He was an avid LSU fan and loved spending quality time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Mc­Calpin and Jewel McCalpin; sister, Carolyn Cox; broth­er, Aaron McCalpin; and daughter, Sheila Wimberly.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane Mc­Calpin; son, Bobby Mc­Calpin Jr. (Tanya); grand­children, Kayla Stokes, Logan Stokes, Amy New­som, Matt Wimberly, Ja­cob McCalpin, Charity McCalpin, S.J. McCalpin; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Stanfield, 81

Dorothy “Grandottie” Stanfield, 81, of Tuscumbia, AL died on Tuesday, Feb­ruary 25, 2025. A memorial service will be held at the Cowboy Church of Colbert County on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2 p.m. Bro. Tru­man Sutton will be officiating.

She was a member of Cow­boy Church of Colbert County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Mc­Guire and Leller Prince; hus­band, WK “Bill” Stanfield; and brother, Bobby McGuire.

She is survived by her son, Jody Stanfield (Tasha); daughter, Susan Stanfield; stepson, William K Stanfield, Jr. (Jennifer); sister, Mary Lynn Demastus Lowery; grandchildren, Kristina Ros­sin (Brice), Amanda Vess, Brittney Wadkins (Alex), Brandon Stanfield (Haleigh), and Montana Byrd (Ceb); step grandchildren, Christian Stanfield and Liam Stan­field; great grandchildren, Harbor, Colton, Brantley, Aidynn, Hope, Essa, Cove, Jacie, and Cannon; numer­ous nieces and nephews.

Roger C. Holt, 65

Roger C. Holt, 65, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away on Fri­day, February 28, 2025. A grave­side service will be held on Tues­day, March 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

He loved hunting, fish­ing, camping, and ev­erything outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Holt, the mother of his children; fa­ther, R.C. Holt; mother, Lenice Holt; and brother, David Holt.

Roger is survived by his wife, Tracy Holt; sons, Adam Holt (Emily) and Justin Holt (Jazmine) stepson, Adam Mc­Gee (Kayla); stepdaughter, Mackenzye Parrish (Jacob); sister, Jody Smallwood (Rob­ert)grandchildren, Beau Holt, Raychel Holt, JJ Holt, Brai­lie Foster, Carson McGee, Kalem McGee, Amelia Mc­Gee, and in August, baby Luke.

Pallbearers will be Adam Holt, Justin Holt, Beau Holt, Spanky Smith, Brian Howard, Carson McGee, and Matt Sib­ley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kalem McGee and JJ Holt.
