Kenneth Eugene Pace, 84
Kenneth Eugene Pace, 84, Sheffield, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 6, at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Ernie Emmons officiating.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Walston and Mattie Bela Pace; and daughter, Sharon Kay Pace.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Bevis Pace; children, Troy Pace and Susan Mashburn; grandchildren, Krysta Martinez and Kayce Love; and great-grandchildren, Beau, Luke, and Daisy Love.
Pallbearers will be Tony Cabaniss, Chuck Cabaniss, Cory Love, Terry Mashburn, Carl Tubbs, Greg Bond, and Scotty Lovelady.
Curtis Wesley Killen, 81
Curtis Wesley Killen, 81, of Marissa, IL, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. There will be no services at this time.
Curtis was a native of Lauderdale County, AL and a 1961 graduate od LCHS. He was a retired electrician and amember of the Methodist Church. Curtis was preceded in death byhis son, Kerry Killen; parents, W.E. and Claythal Killen; brother, Derrick Killen; and brother-in-law, Roy W. Fuller.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Killen; sister, Jacqueline K. Fuller; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Killen.
Truby Morgan Reynolds, 89
Truby Morgan Reynolds, our dear mother, 89, of Sheffield, gained her angel wings May 30, 2024. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4, from 1 – 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral Service will follow in the chapel. Tony Chaney and Bro. Thomas Thornton will officiate. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her grandson, Brent Kennamore. She was very fond of her time as a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church where she made many lifelong friends. As she continued her walk with Christ, she found new membership at Abby Baptist where she continued to make more friends and memories. Truby had an affinity for her grand dog, Cooper, and enjoyed adventure. Two angels, Sonya Stutts and Carolyn Hasha, helped Mrs. Reynolds sustain a better lifestyle.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte Kennamore (B.J.) and Steven Harold Hatton; and sisters, Mavis Pace and Ivy Byrd; grandchild, Kayla Pennington Esquival (Richard); great – grandchildren, Waden, Brook and Casyn.
The family extends thanks to the third and fourth floor staff at Helen Keller Hospital.

Jessie Hayes Peterson, 87, Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 31, at Harris Chapel Cemetery, Cherokee, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with grandchildren, Bradley Puckett and Ginger Vanhorn officiating.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Birdie Hayes; brother, Nathaniel Hayes; and sister, Susie V. Cornelius.
She is survived by the love of her life, Jasper Peterson; daughters, Joanie Burns and husband, William, and Judy Dorman; brothers, Bo Hayes and wife, Jenny, and Joe Hayes; grandchildren, Wade Barrier and wife, Amy, Bradley Puckett and wife, Betsy, and Ginger Vanhorn and husband, Mark; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Slater, Rubye, Lincoln, and Embree; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be William Burns, Bradley Puckett, Lincoln Puckett, and Mark Vanhorn.
The family offers special thanks to Vivian Bates; and to Jennifer and Laura with Enhabit Hospice.
Dr. Galen Harold Kiser, 76
Dr. Galen Harold Kiser, 76, Sheffield, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024. Visitation will be Friday, May 31, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Truman Sutton officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.
Dr. Kiser was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, Registered Pharmacist, Instructor, and Author. His 56+ years of diverse experience included 37+ years in the medical field, most recently as a DO – Emergency Medicine with Shoals Primary Care.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Whitman and Mosethel “Bid” Kiser; brother, Eddie Kiser; and sisters, Doris Ann Kiser and Norma Jean Kiser.
Dr. Kiser is survived by his wife, Diane Faust-Kiser; stepson, Jordan Faust; and beloved niece and nephew, Morgan Maxwell and Paul Maxwell.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Tomlinson, Billy Carmack, Mike Bacon, Michael Klyce, Melvin Darby, and Blake Thompson

Robert E. “Jack” Moore, 88
Robert E. “Jack” Moore, Jr. 88, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, with his loving wife of 69 ½ years by his side. Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, at 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia. Bro. Ted Vafeas will be officiating.
Jack was an avid Alabama fan. After he retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked from 1956 – 1992, he and Earline would pack up the motorhome when the season started and follow the team all season. Jack was also an avid golfer. He belonged to the Florence Country Club for many years until it closed, and was known as the Iron Man because he drove with a 9 iron instead of a wood. His big thrill came on April 25, 1986, when he made a 270 yard hole-in-one on the 9th hole.
Jack coached Muscle Shoals Little League. He was a member of Muscle Shoals Band Boosters and president and chairman of the Colbert County Exchange Club. He also served on the Muscle Shoals Electric Board. His contributions and commitment to the community were greatly appreciated.
Jack’s smoked bar-b-q chicken was unarguably the best to those who had the privilege to try it out. His smile and laughter brightened up the room. He dearly cared about others. He will be so missed.
Jack is survived by his wife, Earline; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daryl; mother, Evelyn McDougal; and father, Robert Earl Moore.
Tommy Morris Jones
Tommy Morris Jones, Son of the late James Neal and Maggie Leanna French Jones, passed away May 27, 2024, in his home in the Oakland Community. Morris was born in Benoit, Mississippi in 1937, and his family moved to Tennessee while he was serving his county in the Air Force from 1955-1959.
As a young boy Morris accepted Jesus as his savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi.
After graduation from Union University in Jackson Tennessee, he was awarded a National Defense Educational Act fellowship to attend the University of Tennessee where he earned his Masters and Doctorate Degrees.
Morris taught at Mobile College in Mobile, Alabama before accepting a position at the University of North Alabama where he developed a major in Computer Information Systems. He retired as a full professor after 25 years.
Those that passed prior to his death were his parents; brothers, James Jones; Eugene Jones ( who was killed in the Korean War), and Marshall Jones; sisters, Mary Lee Dzuck and Sarah Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Graves Jones; daughter, Marissa Ann Jones Grigsby (Greg); son, Marshall Jones; grandsons (who called him Daddy T) Ethan Grigsby and Shaler Grigsby (Madison); brothers, Leon Jones, Bill Jones, and David Jones; sisters, Shirley Bynum and Barbara Warren.
Visitation will be at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights , Friday May 31, 2024 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Weldon of Pleasant Hill Church officiating. Burial will be Saturday June 1, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 425 Antioch Road Humbolt, Tennessee 38343.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Grigsby, Shaler Grigsby, Daniel Graves, Bob Blow, Steve Brown, Glen Graves, and Brian Hodge.
Danny Joe
Kelsoe, 77
Danny Joe Kelsoe, 77, of Cherokee, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
Danny was self-employed as a mechanic and performed auto body work. He was preceded in death by his father, B. Forrest “Slim” Kelsoe; mother, Bessie Mae Lansdell Kelsoe; son, Danny Shane Kelsoe; brothers, O’Neal, Charles (Buddy), Ralph, Don, Cliff, Brett; sisters, Elizabeth (Tiki) Townley, and Rhonda Mashburn.
Danny is survived by his brother, Barry Kelsoe; sisters, Susan Kelsoe and Janet Tucker.
John Kevin
Farley, 49
John Kevin Farley, 49, Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Monday, June 3, in the funeral home chapel, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Netherly officiating. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Kevin was a veteran of the US Army National Guard, serving three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 115th Signal Battalion in Haleyville, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was employed at Life Data Labs, owned by Ms. Lynda. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and play guitar. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lylah White; father, Billie “Cotton” Farley; and son-in-law, Shane Kelsoe.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Paula Ranee Farley; children, Chelsea Kelsoe, Matthew Wallace, Vanessa Meador (Ray), Krissy Wallace (Kyle), and Katie Medley (Daekon Sherrill); mother, Lillie Coons; brothers, Steve Farley, Mark Farley (Paula), and Joe Farley (Rosie); and grandchildren, Preston White, Karson White, Malakai Meador, Kolten Medley, and Scarlett Medley.
Landis, Sr., 93
Robert Charles Landis, Sr., 93, Sheffield, passed away Sunday May 26, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Annapolis Avenue Church of Christ, Sheffield. The funeral service will immediately follow at church with Thomas Sneed officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Robert was a native and lifelong resident of Sheffield, as well as a lifelong and faithful member of the Annapolis Avenue Church of Christ. His faith and dedication to his church was evident throughout his life. Robert was a US Navy veteran and a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in 1957, and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Howard College in 1963. He was recognized by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy in 2013 for being a licensed pharmacist for fifty years. Robert owned Landis Apothecary in Sheffield, and later Helton Drive Pharmacy, and continued to work relief pharmacy until he was eighty-five years old. He enjoyed studying the Bible, reading, watching movies, and walking at the TVA Trail. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Alice Starkey Landis; parents, Oscar Bell and Laura Boyd Burch Landis; brother, Cecil B. Landis; and sister, Margaret A. Landis Carter.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert C. “Robbie” Landis, Jr. (Connie) and Donna Landis Smith; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Landis (Brad Phillips), Brandon Kyle Landis (Olivia), Aaron Robert Landis, and Ryan James Landis; and niece, Peggy Carter-Thompson.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

David Hubbard, 73
David Hubbard, 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Visitation for David will be Monday, June 3, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tanner Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery.
David was a lifelong resident of Colbert County. He was a retired truck driver with TVA, a founding member and volunteer fire fighter with the New Bethel Volunteer Fire Department for forty-two years, and a deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mattie Hubbard; step-mother, Mary Hubbard; and step-sister, Rita Smith.
David is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sheila Hubbard; children, Kevin Hubbard (Audra) and Jennifer Springer; and grandchildren, Kyra, Savanna, and James.
Members of the New Bethel Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
Federico Trejo Guzman, 57
Federico Trejo Guzman, 57, Sheffield, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024. A private memorial service will be held for the family.
Federico was a native of Tampico, Mexico, and a longtime resident of Sheffield. He was employed at Rivercross Properties. His father, Gerardo Trejo, preceded him in death.
Federico is survived by his children, Luis Trejo, Juan Trejo, and Alex Trejo; mother, Gabriela Guzman; sister, Maria De Laluz Trejo Guzman; and grandchildren, Mia Trejo and Leo Trejo.
