The following arrests were made by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office in recent days:
— On April 3, Dylan L. Hanback, 28, of Florence, was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and attempting to elude. According to Deputy Christopher Miller’s report, he was patrolling the area of Frankfort Road when he allegedly noticed a vehicle that matched the description of one owned by a driver with felony warrants. After a traffic stop was initiated, the driver initially pulled into a parking lot before returning to the road and driving at a high rate of speed. The driver eventually took a sharp turn and hit the patrol unit. The driver attempted to flee again, but Miller successfully deployed his taser. The driver was identified as Hanback, who had a backpack containing a small glass jar containing marijuana.
— On April 3, Andrew J. Lovell, 49, and Joshua M. Lovell, 25, were arrested and each charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nellie N. Rogers, 23, was arrested and charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude. According to Deputy Hunter White’s report, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Second Street and River Road on a vehicle allegedly with no license plate and a busted taillight that was observed making improper lane usage. The odor of marijuana emanated from the vehicle during the stop. A search of the vehicle yielded a small baggie with a crystal-like substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine, a container with a clear baggie containing marijuana and two firearms, with Joshua Lovell possession another firearm. During a more in-depth search of the vehicle bed a female subject was observed who seemed paranoid and had trouble maintaining balance. The female attempted to flee on foot but was tased and apprehended. Where the subject fell was found a baggie of methamphetamine and a loaded syringe. Felony charges of possession of a controlled substance will be presented to a grand jury.
