Dr. Ernest Lee Mollohan, 77

Dr. Ernest Lee Mollohan, 77, of Tuscumbia, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, dedicated physician, and proud Vietnam veteran, Ernie left this world the same way he lived in it—with quiet strength and boundless love. Born February 8, 1949, in Charleston, WV, he lived in various states across the US and in Germany before settling in Tuscumbia in the mid-1990s.

Ernie was more than a skilled physician; he was a healer of the spirit as well as the body. His patients adored him not only for his compassionate care but for the way he always left them smiling. Whether sharing a corny joke or an uplifting message, he always reminded everyone of the brighter side of life. His motto was “Every day is a holiday, every other day is a banquet, and those in between are just a transition.”

His love of animals started at a young age, and many believed that if he hadn’t been a doctor, he would have ended up a vet. From raising raccoons and deer as a kid to taking in injured horses and nursing them back to health once he moved to Alabama, Ernie’s love of animals was evident. There was always a dog or cat following him around the ranch, and probably a horse or two as well. He could also cut a mean two-step and loved to play the banjo.

Ernie was a proud Marine and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. After completing his medical training, he rejoined the military as an Army physician and served on base in Germany for a short time in the 1990s.

He was a 1983 graduate of Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and a 1994 graduate of A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO, where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He and his wife Kris opened their clinic together in 2015, where he continued to work until the time of his illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Garnett Mollohan, and his brother, Bernard Mollohan.

Ernie leaves behind his beloved wife of nineteen years, Kris Mollohan; sons, Paul (Stacy), Mac (Lela), Erik, David (Alexa), Tim (Sami); daughters, Jennifer (Brian) and Steph (Gabe); and stepsons, Freddie (Laura) and Kalan (Hope); 21 grandchildren; sister-in-law, MJ (Jerry); sisters, Debbie and Joanna; niece, Melissa (BJ); and nephews, Steven (Shannon) and Dwayne (Margie)

Thank you to Amedisys Hospice for the care and compassion you gave us over the past couple of months, and to Kelly Bowling for your love, compassion, and dedication. You made our lives so much easier. Thank you Steve and Rachel Thrasher for always being here with us and thank you for your unselfish hearts—you give so much and expect nothing in return.

Thank you to everyone in our community who offered up prayers for Ernie, and to all of our patients who sent cards, called, came to visit, and checked on us continuously. We appreciate every one of you.

“Sweetheart, you have always been my hero, my cheerleader, my mentor, and the love of my life. Thank you for always making me feel loved, safe, and cared for. Thank you for teaching me to see the world the way you saw it. You made every day a holiday.”

A memorial service to honor Ernie’s life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.

Honorary pallbearers are Kalan Watson, Freddie Watson, Jr., Joe Motta, Steve Thrasher, and Spencer Letsinger.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or your local animal shelter.

Tamila Kay Davis Holland, 64

Tamila Kay Davis Holland “Tammy”, born October 8, 1961, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was the beloved daughter of Jack and Janis Davis, whose love and guidance helped shape the compassionate and strong woman she became. Tammy shared a beautiful life with her husband, Jeff Holland for 47 years, whose partnership and love were a constant source of strength and joy.

Tammy was a proud and devoted mother to Daniel Holland (Jessica), Ashleigh Raney (Corey), and Aaron Holland (Erica). Her children were her pride, and she poured her heart into raising them with kindness, faith, and unwavering support. Her greatest joy, however, came from being “Nanny” to her cherished grandchildren: Jackson Galliano, Kylee Holland, Carter Raney, Riley Holland, Easton Holland, and Madelyn Holland. They were truly her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them—laughing, playing, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Tammy dedicated her professional life as a CNP for Tuscumbia City Schools, where she cared deeply for the students she served. She had a natural ability to comfort, nurture, and make others feel safe and valued, leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives.

Her love for Jesus was the foundation of her life. Tammy’s faith guided her every step, and she lived as a shining example of grace, kindness, and compassion. She found joy in the simple, beautiful moments—singing, dancing, and being surrounded by her family. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit uplifting, and her love unconditional.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, Tammy’s legacy is one of deep love, strong faith, and joyful living. She taught those around her the importance of family, the power of faith, and the beauty of embracing each day with a full heart.

She will be profoundly missed, but forever remembered and cherished by all who were blessed to know and love her.
