National Weather Service confirms 3 tornadoes hit The Shoals April 5
Another round of severe weather struck The Shoals April 5 in what has been an active tornado season for northwest Alabama.
The National Weather Service confirmed three separate EF-1 tornadoes impacted The Shoals area that night.

The first of the tornadoes touched down at 10:18 p.m., lasted 12 minutes and went for 8.43 miles through Sheffield.
The second touched down at 10:25 p.m. near Cedar Hill Estates and tracked 12.45 miles through Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals before continuing east until 10:40 p.m.
The third tornado struck north of the Tennessee River in Aqua Vista before tracking south of Elgin.
While a handful of injuries were reported, the NWS said there were no fatalities caused by the storms.
That said, the high winds caused downed trees and power outages across the area, with Muscle Shoals Trailer Park seeing several homes destroyed by falling debris.
A GoFundMe titled Donate to Aid Muscle Shoals Trailer Park Victims has been started to help benefit those affected.
“If you are out in Tuscumbia today, please be careful,” Mayor William Foster posted to social media. “Trees, power poles and lines are down. Thankful for our Street Department for getting our roads passable. Also, thank you to all that have been out assisting. Stay weather aware and be safe.”
Tuscumbia Utilities reported working on downed lines in multiple locations, while Muscle Shoals also posted about issues caused by toppled trees.
“A mobile home park was hit particularly hard, prompting first responders to go door-to-door to verify the safety and wellbeing of residents,” the City posted to its Facebook page. “Additional tree damage was reported throughout the city, contributing to scattered power outages in multiple neighborhoods. Crews responded quickly to address hazards and restore services.
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our city staff, first responders, and Mayor Lockhart for their continued dedication and support of our community during this time. Special thanks also go to all of our utility departments — electric, water and gas — who were actively responding or on standby to ensure services were safely maintained and restored.”
Residents across The Shoals also posted about several areas impacted by flooding, including Spring Park and the nearby golf course.
